"ALICE AND CHESSIE" by Jade N. Bengco

I'm sure most everyone is familiar with the tale of Alice In Wonderland. There have been countless versions of it ever since it was placed on the big screen. I wanted to deviate a bit from the story with my own musings regarding Alice and Chessie (the Cheshire cat for short). In my version the serious Alice is forever hounded by Chessie asking her to drink from this mysterious bottle that he carries with him. The thing is--each time Alice takes a sip she becomes smaller and smaller till she finds Chessie is now taller than her--playfully teasing the ribbon from her hair! Is that desire we see in Chessie's sexy whiskey colored eyes? Note Chessie's dapper pin-striped suit, ruffled shirt with cravat and a huge enameled cameo of the Queen on his lapel. One can only guess where his loyalties lie--but I'm sure he'll give everything up for Alice. The Flower ladies in the Queen of Hearts' garden are gossiping and looking on as to what Chessie is up to, while the Queen's men whose job it was to paint the roses red--have abandoned their work!
