Tag As FavoriteComment		Whoever heard of a pink-themed Halloween? Well, I decided that for me, Halloween will be pink this year--in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month which is October.  I did this painting in pastels--from the palest shell pink to a pale crimson wih touches of pale lavender and indigo. The rendering here is pretty loose and I also used a light rust sepia paint to do my outlines instead of the usual smokey black or dark sepia ink--to stay within the intended pale palette of this painting. A pink-tailed mermaid witch with a pink seaweed woven hat rides her pet hippocampus (mythological sea horse) on her way to give out sweet sea candy treats to all the good little mergirls and merboys! Even the sea pumpkin JOL is magically pink for this occassion! A very sweet and whimsical image! Done in ink, watercolor, and a touch of acrylic on heavyweight acid-free Strathmore paper.

i like the colours in this pic as they seem quite unique - not pastel, not bright, kinda inbetween....interesting. I'd describe them as 'coral' 2
