Tag As FavoriteComment		My interpretation of a Selkie--the seal people from Scottish myth and folklore--with flowing dark hair and lavender eyes, casting off his sealskin in a hidden crystal cavern under the light of the full moon. In seal form most of the time, they shed their sealskins and change to human form once every full moon--as is popularly known, still others say only during Midsummer's Eve--once a year. The male selkie, in human form is an exceptionally handsome, virile, and lithe male--often enspelling numerous females who cross their path.

This is wonderfully done. 2 Like some, I too thought he was female at first, since most depictions of selchies are so, but I did think- "wow.. she’s built!!" ;D Upon reading your description I see perfectly that he’s my favorite type of guy- the slight, long-haired, "pretty boy" type. ;D He’s lovely, and so is your painting. ^_^ Many thanks for sharing it! I’m a picky gal when it comes to merfolk and seal-folk (as I’m a HUGE fan), and this is just amazing. ^_^
